Jolie Brise restaurant is located in the picturesque fishing village of Baltimore, being one of the buildings that forms the edge to what is now a sheltered village square as part of our brief, which previous to these works was used for car parking.
The client’s brief was to accommodate a budget family restaurant at ground floor with a new guesthouse over, which would ensure both visitors and diners could enjoy the sea views and activities of the harbour whilst they relaxed.
The façade of the existing building on the site was retained as planning requirement, with a twin gable level added on top to facilitate additional guestrooms, with glass balcony doors. The challenge of trebling the accommodation on the site and providing new modern facilities in this very sensitive location was met with a careful design response.
