MARGARET WALSH B.Arch MRIAI
Margaret Walsh joined msaarchitects in 2000 as partner in the practice and has over ten years experience as an architect working in West Cork as well as eight years experience as Associate and Design Director in O’ Riordan Staehli Architect, Cork with four years previous experience of commercial architectural work in London.
Margaret has a particular interest in healthcare design being responsible for the recent design to completion of the new Children’s Services Centre and Respite Accommodation for CoAction in Dunmanway, the new Child and Family Centre for CoAction in Bantry, the upgrade and extension of two existing eight bed residences for COPE Foundation in Cork, the complete refurbishment of CoAction’s Main Facilities and Adult Services Centre in Bantry and the refurbishment and extension of the COPE Residence at Clogheen, Clonakilty.
Other significant work includes site strategic assessments/ feasabilities, the design of new build houses and the refurbishment and extension of existing houses, including older structures and Protected Structures of Local Importance.
At O’ Riordan Staehli Architects Margaret initiated and developed the competition winning design for the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre (AAI Award), contributed significantly to the design of the new Maternity Hospital at Cork University Hospital (RIAI Award) and to the Mercy Hospital new Grenville Place Wing (RIAI Award).
